Persecution?

Thought for the day- Dust on the Bible leads to a filthy life. Why should I be persecuted? Aren't we suppose to get along with everybody? Hebrews 12:14 says to follow peace with all men and holiness without, which no man shall see the Lord. This is telling us that we do our best to get along with people, but we still hold up our standards. God's ways are always right. Acts 8- It tells about the severe persecution of the church in Jerusalam. The Christians were scattered abroad to Judea and Samaria. The Jews considered the samaratians to be dogs. Phillip was the only apostle to go. He preached the message of the cross with signs and wonders. They received his message with joy. When headquarters heard, they sent Peter and John. They prayed and they received the Holy Ghost. Saul was the one who caused all the trouble. Soon he re- cieved the Lord himself. They stood firm in their faith. Just prior to this Peter and some of the apostles were put into prison for preaching Jesus. Acts 5. They boldly said that they would obey God, not man. Jesus gave us the example, to love our enemies and pray for them that despitefully use and persecute you. Matthew 5:44 We are persecuted but not forsaken. we are troubled but not destressed, perplexed but not dispaired, cast down but not destroyed 2 Corinthians 4:8,9- in John 15:20 it states that Jesus was persecuted and that we would be also. We are reviled and we bless, persecuted and we bear it. 1 Corinthians 4:12 Bearing persecution takes faith and trust. We must believe that God is the rewarder of them that dilligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 In these last days we need, more than ever before, the baptism of the Holy Ghost. He is the anointing, the guide, comforter, the power from on high. He is our seal unto the day of redemption. John chapters 13-16 Acts 1:11, 2:4, 38. These are scriptures about the Holy Ghost/ Holy Spirit. John 20:22 Jesus said to receive the Holy Spirit. That was a command. He has sent us another comforter to be in us. The evidence of the Baptism is unknown tongues. 1 Corinthians 14 explains the tongues. It would take me more than a month to go into all details, but these scriptures will help. If you have questions contact us at Gospel Lighthouse Outreach I will say as Jesus did, 'be ye filled with the Spirit. The one requirement is to be saved. Believe and receive, doubt and do without.
