Peter minces no words as he describes the part the Jews have played in Jesus' crucifixion, death, and burial. Now He is risen and Peter is declaring He is the Christ, the Anointed One sent by God to provide salvation. He affirmed that since Jesus is now seated at the right hand of God, He had poured out what they were now seeing and hearing. Many hearts were pricked and repentance came to many. Peter encouraged them to be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit as those they were hearing had received it. He told them it was a promise given to you, your children, your children's children and to all who are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. The gift of the Holy Spirit is needed to give us power and help us be overcomers in this life. Do you have the gift of the Holy Spirit? Do you desire to have the gift of the Holy Spirit? If you desire Him, ask and seek the face of God and the Holy Spirit will come and make his home in you. We all need Him so that we can accomplish what God has called us to do. He enables us to do what is not possible in the natural man. We have to be careful to listen to him and follow his counsel and leadership. He is our Helper. He will protect us, strengthen us, and fill us with peace and joy. I am hoping to see you in Sunday School at 10:00 A. M..
