This is a free gift. We have a choice whether to accept it or not.  I'm not going to tell you what it is yet; what I am going to tell you all the benefits of receiving this gift, of course I am not talking about salvation, because this gift is only to the saved. The gift of eternal life, salvation, is to whosoever will believe and receive. This offer you must also believe and receive to get it.  JUST AS THERE ARE BENEFITS OF SERVING THE LORD JESUS, (Deuteronomy 28:2-17) The  warning (Deuteronomy 5:12-) John 3:17,Romans 6:23)  The warning of not receiving this gift is the opposite of the benefits. This gift is  water in  a dry and thirsty land. (Isaiah 44:3). It is rest to the weary and comfort and refreshing Isaiah 28:12 This gift will give you guidance and truth. (Nehemiah 9:20).  When in battles of life this gift will help you; to know your enemies and how to become victorious over them; be a  shield or fortress (Isaiah 59:19, 51:12) .(Micah 3) it gives you power and might (Zechariah 4:6). Luke 11:13 says that it is a good gift. (John 20:22) Jesus says to receive it... Romans 15:19 states that if received will produce signs and wonders. It will help us pray when we don't know what to pray for (Romans 8:28). We are sealed by this gift of promise of God (Ephesians1:13). Ephesians 4:3-14 says that in receiving this gift we come into the unity of  "The Faith," no more children tossed to and fro. Jude 17: But, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;18: How they told you there shall be mockers in the last time and walk after their own ungodly lusts.19: These be they that separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit that is the gift of God, The Spirit, the Holy Spirit, The Holy Ghost, THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST. He is the gift  I am referring to and yes the evidence is speaking in tongues is the evidence (Acts 2:4). Speaking in unknown tongues, A language somewhere in this world, unknown to you. (Acts10:45b). ...because on the Gentiles  also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46: For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God,..We have a prayer language given. Jude 20: But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. There are so many more benefits to being filled with the Spirit,  I only mentioned a few. Why wouldn't any Christian want to receive the gift given to us by God, and Jesus, the Son. The anointing, power and signs following. We can make the difference if we are led by the Holy Spirit of promise. In ourselves we can do so little but the Spirit leading us makes all the difference in the world. Open your hearts to this gracious gift and go forth in the power and anointing. I will, how about you?
