Fellowship Hall

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  Webster, in his old edition of the dictionary, defines believe; to accept as fact, live by, rely on.  A lot of people say they believe in Jesus but they don't accept, live by, or rely on Him.  Jesus told us in Matthew that everyone who said Lord, Lord, would not enter heaven but only those who did the will of His Father.  Only through Jesus can we make it to heaven.  God knows that we are human but our humanity is not an excuse for sin.  Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to be our helper.  The Holy Spirit comes to live inside us when we are saved but we can receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus promised His Father would send the gift of the Holy Ghost when he told his followers to go to Jerusalem and stay until they were imbued with power from on high.  The Holy Spirit empowers us for service, leads us, and provides all that we need to follow Jesus.  What God does for one, He does for all.  We must choose to serve Him or reject Him.  There is no middle ground.  He is longsuffering but He is also just.  We determine our own fate.  Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death:  but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  " Let's face it, it is heaven or hell just as we choose.  What choice are you making today?  Where will you spend eternity?
