God (Part 4) Attributes: Who Is He?
God Is Infinite and Eternal ➢ What Does This Mean?
• God is without limits in every aspect. He knows no bounds. He is measureless in every way.
• God has no beginning or end. He is free from and outside the limits of time. He views the past and future as being “today.”
➢ Where Do We See This in Scripture?
• God is infinite in relation to space (Ps. 113:4-6). “Heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you” (I Kings 8:27; II Chron. 2:6).
• God is infinite in mercy (Rom. 5:20; Ps. 100:5) and love (John 3:16).
• He is the “Everlasting God” (Gen. 21:33), “from everlasting to everlasting” (Ps. 90:2), who “inhabits eternity” (Is. 57:15).
• “I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning” (Is. 46:9-10). “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end” (Rev. 1:8; 21:6).
➢ What Does This Mean for Me?
 God is infinite; we are finite. God is on a level so far above us, which makes our relationship with Him something absolutely amazing to think about!
 Because God is limitless, we can be assured that His gift of eternal life can, in fact, be limitless as well.
 Since God will never cease to exist, we can be assured that His power and sovereignty over all things and events will continue.
 God knows our past and our future as if they were in the present. Nothing is able to surprise God. As we anticipate our future, we can trust Him and have confidence in the plan that He has for our lives.
